Foxy Announces:

Ever since the iPad, I have been reading less on the laptop :P
And hence less inclined to take pictures and review them - bad!!

Taking baby steps to come back on track!

Saturday Star 15th May 2010

I thought it was gonna be a bright cheery Saturday. Slept enough, got dressed and headed to my usual Dim Sum joint for breakfast. Then I flip open the papers.. and saw these:

Depressing news aren't they? When are these gonna end? Hard to believe the streets that I used to stroll around is now a battlefield! What good do they get out of all these? :(

What happen to people there whose career / job / life revolves around that area? What would the school-going children grow up thinking with the constant explosions and yellings while they learn at school?

What about the gentle wai and sweet smile that people flash to each other / tourists?

I still wanna go Bangkok! Be nice to each other already!

Next piece of depressing news.
How could a 10 year old possibly hung herself while playing with a piece of cloth? And how come children these days were not properly supervised?

I remember when I was a kid, news like these were unheard of. Young children were never left alone. You don't see many kids murdered / raped / tortured.
What is happening nowadays? Its a scary scary world.

Come to the end of the paper, you think it'll be better. How about these?

Yeah so we lost the Thomas Cup; so yes we're kinda disappointed. Who wouldn't right? But, do we need to slap these to our players' faces?

"Demoralising", "Easy Meat", "Look like a novice" - do our national players deserve all these? In a game, you either win or lose. If you win, you get the roses and heaven. If you lose, you simply get all the merdes and sent down to hell. Is this the value that our ancestors want to teach us? So they lost, the world didn't end. Life goes on, you wake up, drag your ass to work, eat, sleep, shit.

Why give them a harder time than they already are experiencing? It is not fun having the whole country watching your every move in a game. The stress is tremendously overwhelming. Shoulder that and try focusing on the game, and your very strong opponent. Tell me its a piece of cake, and I can tell you have not lived.

To a good kid who didn't get 100% in his exams, he'd feel rotten because he let his parents down. To a kid who couldn't be bothered, he simply quits school. These players tried their best. Give them some space.

Why not use the extra energy to make someone else's life better?
Rather than bitching about another's failure.
